Renieri Brunello Di Montalcino

The Renieri estate extends over about 128 hectares, of which 30 are dedicated to vineyards. Renieri is a true gem among Marco Bacci’s vineyards. Renieri is located in the southern part of the territory of Montalcino, facing the majestic Mount Amiata, a millenary lava dome that faces the property from the south. This gives the wines produced from this volcanic soil unique characteristics. Brimming with iron and melted stones, the soil gives the wines some amazing minerally undertones. Here Marco Bacci makes Brunello di Montalcino, which has been outstanding since the 2006 vintage, thanks to Marco’s capable hands.

The vineyards are at an altitude of 400 metres above sea level and enjoy an almost 360-degree exposure, from east to northwest. The soils at Renieri estate are predominately volcanic, with calcareous soils and stone interfigured with red clay and tuffs. The predominate grapes varietal is, of course, Sangiovese. The Renieri home is a typical country farmhouse, made of stone. It dates back to the 1700s, while the winery, which extends over about 1000 square metres, is almost entirely situated below ground.
